This rubber compound is infused with Solum Verdura™, a bio-based additive that replaces fossil-based chemistry and reduces reliance on finite resources – and increases our use of bio-based materials. We guide our materials choices with a clear "Better Materials Framework”. This commitment to reducing our reliance on conventional materials is delivered using leathers sourced from a Leather Working Group certified tannery, textiles made from 100% recycled polyester and recycled TPU in the internal components that maintain the shape of the heel section. For this style, we have incorporated Solum’s bio-based pellets into the outsole. These contain plant-based feedstock, which partially replaces some fossil-fuel-based materials in the compound. This approach supports our efforts to increase the use of alternative material sources.
